On these hot summer days in Southern California, I try not to do too much outdoor activities at this time. I don't want to get any suntan, I don't enjoy this beautiful sunshine too much, even though it's free. I rather stay at our home sweet home or go to anywhere, but indoor the most, with our children. We can do baking, party at home, singing, home work study & lots of fun.Every once and a while I have to refill our food storage cabinet, and you know, it's always nice to have a tea party with our family. Edward & I would like to have tea time and we all like to have the tea with lots of the snack. The inventory we have right now are Like honey squid, preserved prune, dry bean curd, sesame candy. Life is wonderful with our family & all the little yummy food. Besides work hard, we like to play hard as well. Now I am doing lots of research for the trip we are going take in November, Thanksgiving time. I just ordered the Bainbaum's book about the" first time traveler to Walt Disney World" at Amazon.com.

Thursday

For many us, this is a distressing time of year as the second anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks approaches. It is a difficult subject and one that is hard to explain to children. On the one hand, we want them to know what happened and how awful it was; on the other hand, we don't want them to be overwhelmed by the horror of it all.

I dressed in black today. Whenever I feel that I want to express something to the people surrounding me, I like to use my dress code & color to tell them.

Edward is out of town for 2 days. He is at Dallas, Texas. Last night, he spent about half hour to teach Charles how to figure out to write the round to the nearest 10 or 100 digit & in between number at down stair study room... In the mean time, I was tried to read the bed time story with Andrew & Nellie at their bed room upstairs. It's costly, I guess. But nowaday, it seems to be so easy. The internet & wireless technologies are really make our world smaller & people are so easy to find each other. I like it.

Last weekend, our good neighbor Eric, Christina & Alan invited us to a Malaysian Restaurant to have a nice dinner. I was the one told Eric about that restaurant, but turned out that Eric insisted to buy us a dinner. Thanks, Eric, Christina. That was a nice meal but $$$$. Thanks again.

We had a surprise guest-Jack, visited our home for 5 days at the Labor Day weekend. He is one of the Edward's old time classmate while he was study at Taiwan University in Taipei. Jack's family is permanent lives in Malaysia. We really had a good time together. We went to library, grocery shopping while Edward still had to work on Saturday (Aug. 30). Jack taught our kids what's the Malaysia's flag look like at the dictionary & show them how to play a fun game that they never learn before. We took Jack to California Adventure Park, Edward was joined as well. The next day (Sep. 1,Monday) Jack & our good neighbor-Eric & Alan was joined us to Traveler Town Museum. It was wonderful to have good friends together to share all the fun life. And that was why one week later (last Saturday) our good neighbor Eric's family & us went to the Malaysian Restaurant for the dinner together. We are kind of in the "Malaysian Mode". Last Saturday after the nice dinner, Eric & Christina came to our house to have a nice chat together. We had a little wine & wonderful conversation going on & our kids were playing their video game. When we said good bye to each other was around 11:30pm. That was a wonderful night. Good time to share with the good people. We are so happy to have a good neighbor like Eric & Christina's family. I kind of feel our house is extended from our door to their door. Alan just like my another big boy. Life is beautiful with nice friends together.

We are ready for our kids Nellie & Charles birthday party this Saturday. We have invited Ms. Rahmanian-Charles 2nd Grade Teacher & Ms. Garcia-Andrew & Nellie's Junior Kindergarten Teacher to join us at the nice seafood & Chinese buffet restaurant. My sister-Jennifer's family will attend the party as well. We'll have 15 people to celebrate both Nellie's 4 years old & Charles's 7 years old birthday. We still going to have the birthday party at school for each of them. Grandma is very exciting for the party. With all the soccer game on every Saturday & Sunday's Go game & Choir, life is too short for ordinary people.

Monday

Fall is here. The weather is getting nicer. I like fall. It's harvest season. It makes me feel great! Summer is just too hot. I don't like stay in the air conditioning too much. Now is just perfect.

Our kids already back to school for almost a month now. So far so good. Everybody try their best to play their role at school. Our life is runs by our routine schedule as you can see at the above. Charles is not focus too much at class most of the time. He has problem to focus to the class. I talked to his teacher-Ms. Rahmanina, she told me that she still working on his behavior everyday. Charles is the only one that we have to really watch on. Andrew & Nellie are doing pretty well at school. God bless us. We have a happy September and now we look forward to celebrating the month of the October. Because we have one birthday boy-Charles, he is turning to 7 years old on October 16. Also, myself-Landy, my birthday is coming after Charles. No wonder I like fall, all the birthdays, holidays & our family vacations, fall & winter are the most busy time to our family. I wish this going to be another harvest year to our kids & family.

By the way, besides the trip to Disneyworld & cruise tour at Thanksgiving time, we just made another vacation plan last week. We would like to take our kids to visit their grandparents in Taipei at Christmas time. Since Edward's father is not feel too well to take the long flight hours to visit us, he is 88 now. we decided to make a surprise for them. Edward's brother-Andy's family is going back to Taipei as well. We'll have a big reunion at Taipei at Christmas time. Life is so wonderful with all of these fun activities. Oh, I forgot to mentioned, I have just signed up Charles to join our city's cub scout, our first DEN meeting will be held on early October. We had a campfire meeting at Lemon Creek Park on Sep. 17. at 6:30pm. I felt very positive about the Scout of the America. I like to see our kids have a fun, colorful childhood. They need to enjoy their life, not just know how to do their home work ,instead, I like to see them become a good team player. I want to see them become the excellent leader. They need to learn more leadership from the group.
